Extraordinary maintenance of the municipal road network – Municipality XII Via Vitellia

In view of the Jubilee 2025, Roma Capitale is organising maintenance and improvement works on both main and local roads in order to facilitate the movement of pilgrims and tourists throughout the city. This programme involves all 15 municipalities of Rome, each responsible for the resurfacing of the roads under its jurisdiction, with a special focus on connecting axes. The investment will be equally distributed among the municipalities and interventions will be allocated through a centralised tender to ensure uniformity and consistency. The maintenance will include resurfacing the bituminous conglomerate paving, cleaning the drains for rainwater disposal, restoring road markings and maintaining the areas adjacent to the roads.

Auditorium Albergotti

The Albergotti Auditorium, destroyed by a fire in November 2016, is currently undergoing renovation.

The reconstruction works, which began in January 2024 and are scheduled to be in the final phase in December, represent an important urban regeneration action, aimed at restoring the Auditorium's main vocation as a cultural space.

This redevelopment will have a significant impact on the entire quadrant both in terms of city planning and urban safety, helping improve the quality of life of all citizens and promoting greater social cohesion.

Asilo nido "Il Fantabosco" cantiere

INCLUSION

Redevelopment and expansion of the nursery school "Il Fantabosco" located in the territory of Municipality XIII – Roma Aurelio

Activities will include functional redevelopment, securing and expansion of the nursery school.

The project aims to respond to the needs of the community by strengthening the offer of educational services of the "Il Fantabosco" nursery school by increasing the number of children who can be accommodated: from 69 to 90. The expansion will be achieved through the construction of a new structurally autonomous building, using the same type of construction as the existing building. Project objectives will include:

  • the increase of the seismic safety index to 0.82;
  • the improvement of the energy class up to letter D;
  • fire-fighting adaptation.

Redevelopment of the Metronio Market in Via Magnagrecia, 50

The redevelopment of the Metronio Market building is conceived as part of an urban regeneration project involving the Appio Latino - San Giovanni district. 
The goal is the recovery of the building in a state of degradation, so to the return to the city a multifunctional and eco-sustainable place. The project will be based on the enhancement of the building as a central point of service, for Rome's both residents and visitors. The redevelopment will include the market, reinterpreted according to new European trends, and the adaptation of the multi-storey car park. The intervention will be aligned with the principles of environmental sustainability and regulatory compliance, with a focus on fire prevention. Elevators and ramps will be included, so to ensure accessibility for people with disabilities, promoting a "user-friendly" approach.

Centro di eccellenza Servizi per persone con disabilità (Services for the Disabled Centre of Excellence)

The "Centro di Eccellenza Servizi per diversamente abili" is a new building in the Pietralata district, between Via Achille Tedeschi and Via Cave di Pietralata, which aims to promote social integration and inclusion. The facility will be located near a new square with a park, on a recently renovated street. The centre will serve both individual disabled users and the local community, serving as a place of education, discussion and well-being for all citizens. The structure will consist of four buildings, each dedicated to a specific theme: social integration, education and work, food culture and well-being.

The new Torrino Mezzocammino station on the Rome-Lido line

The historic Rome - Lido line adds a new stop, which will allow the inhabitants of the Torrino Mezzocammino area to more easily reach the Capital, the coast and further exchange nodes. Access to the new station will be allowed thanks to the construction of two new buildings arranged along the tracks and connected by a flyover, which will allow a safe crossing.

New Centro Carni - Via Severini tram depot

As part of the upgrading of Rome's tram network, a new depot was built in Via Gino Severini, near the Centro Carni (Slaughterhouse Complex), used for parking and maintenance of trams. As part of the PUMS (Urban Plan for Sustainable Mobility) project in Rome, the new depot contributes to consolidating the tramway section of the eastern area, in addition to that of Palmiro Togliatti. 

The depot will be built in two phases: 

∙ the first phase involves the construction of all workshop rooms, warehouses, offices, stalls, road network, services attached to the workshop, parking lots and technical rooms;

∙ the second phase, pending public or private funding, involves the construction of a steel coating that will cover all the tram stations, where a photovoltaic field with 1.2 MW of power will be placed. Other photovoltaic panels, with 200 kW of power, will be reserved for the exclusive use of the workshop, which will be set up with new tools such as bridge cranes, equipped walkways, metal stairs and mobile scaffolding.

Family House in Pietralata

The Capitoline Administration, which has always been involved in activities aimed at social fragility, intends to create a structure that can accommodate and support families in situations of temporary difficulty. 

The "Family House in Pietralata" is aimed at different types of social fragility, ranging from families with or without children in difficulty or coming from situations of eviction, to parents with children in a state of temporary hardship also of an accommodation nature. 

The spaces are designed as everyday spaces, with a sleeping area, living area, toilets, kitchen, and service rooms, and are organised in such a way as to facilitate daily activities and meetings.

There will be at least one toilet for every four guests, one of which will be of adequate size for wheelchair access and turning. In addition to a room, operators will also have their own toilet. Outside, there will be a space for outdoor activities, green areas and parking.

Municipal library in Via della Lega Lombarda

A new municipal library will be built in the City of Sun, a multifunctional, real estate complex consisting of public and private buildings, located between the Tiburtina station and the former ATAC bus depot.

Conceived as an urban gallery, open and accessible to all, the municipal library will become a reference point for the district, capable of promoting culture and knowledge as well as exchange, aggregation and social interaction. 

The central space consisting of the large span, which was once used for manoeuvring ATAC vehicles, will be transformed into an open space with tables, bookshelves and reading corners with benches and sofas. The library will be spread over two floors, with multifunctional reading rooms, areas for children and young people, and spaces for cultural events such as film screenings and art exhibitions. The first floor will be dedicated for reading and study, with rooms for to children and teenagers, accessible via two suspension bridges.
