Scenic park Naturalistic Oasis between Ponte Milvio and Ponte Flaminio
Implementing party
Project description
The work involved the creation of a natural oasis between Ponte Milvio and Ponte Flaminio, with the aim of remediating, reforesting and restoring biodiversity.
The project focused on four main aspects: accessibility, longitudinal and transverse paths, rest areas, with the intention of respecting the natural spontaneous elements and enhancing them also with new design elements, such as a water garden and edging between the carriageway and the pedestrian road.
During the work, the remains of the old southern bank of the Tiber in opus quadratum with tuff blocks from the Aniene River surfaced, on which a memorial stone from 54 BC was placed, erected by the censors C. M. Valerius Messala and P. Servilius Vatia Isauricus—mentioned in the inscriptions on both sides of the stone.
