Redevelopment and enhancement of the "Pilgrimage Paths"
Implementing party
Project description
The intervention for the redevelopment and expansion of the "Pilgrimage Paths" aims to establish an integrated network between the already existing routes, converging from various directions towards the city of Rome. By connecting Via Francigena del Nord, Cammino di San Francesco, Cammino Naturale dei Parchi, and Via Francigena del Sud, new urban connections will be made throughout the municipal area, promoting collaboration with local associations and organisations, in addition to reaching less active parts of the population and those with disabilities. The project will have several objectives:
- PRIORITY 1 - improvement and maintenance of urban access points through the renovation of existing urban sections and the unification of sign usage, with the possibility of drawing up agreements for easements in private areas and the identification of reception facilities within the municipal assets;
- PRIORITY 2 - construction and redevelopment of bicycle and pedestrian paths that connect the main pilgrimage routes and various local areas.
- PRIORITY 3 - creation of events dedicated to raising awareness of environmentally friendly and sustainable forms of mobility, as well as the concepts of circular economy and responsible food policies.
