The project aimed to redevelop urban gardens through the introduction of new herbaceous species to improve city decorum. Plant supply and installation work was carried out, with the aim of restoring the decorative appearance of the green spaces. The activities were carried out in several stages: removal of the top soil layer, soil preparation, planting of the selected herbaceous species, with a focus on high-temperature resistant species. The project complied with the minimum environmental criteria for public green areas, guaranteeing the quality of the plant material supplied and its rooting. All work and plant material supplied complied with the provisions of point 4.2.2 of Annex 1 of the Italian Ministerial Decree of 10 March 2020, the so-called MEC or Minimum Environmental Criteria for the awarding of contracts relating to public green and ornamental plant purchases.
