Pedestrian Black Point Project: Viale Cardinal Ginnasi / Via Vincenzo Vannutelli
Implementing party

Project description
The intervention, aimed at improving the road safety of pedestrians, aims at ensuring the safety of 30 dangerous pedestrian crossings, distributed in the 15 Municipalities of Roma Capitale — the so-called pedestrian black points.
Activities will include:
better definition of trajectories, calibration of the crossing area through signage and minimal physical works;
the control and reduction of speeds thanks to new horizontal, vertical and luminous signs;
the light infrastructural reorganisation of the intersection, the re-profiling of roadsides and traffic curbs; the remodulation and safety of spaces, paths and pedestrian crossings; the optimisation of parking spaces and visibility;
optimisation of manoeuvres and traffic light regulation.
Since the first quarter of 2025, the first five interventions were completed, located in the following areas of Municipalities I, II, III, X and XI:
- Via Odoardo Beccari/Via Ambrogio Contarini;
- Via Ugo Ojetti/Via Jovine Francesco;
- Viale Cardinal Ginnasi/Via Vincenzo Vannutelli
- Largo Somalia;
- Via Portuense/Viale Arturo Martini.
