Making the traffic in Via Sant'Elpidio a Mare safe
Implementing party
Project description
The Via S. Elpidio a Mare zone XI - San Vittorino road safety project included the restoration of the vertical signage. Here are the activities that were carried out:
- Replacement of damaged signs. Damaged or deteriorated vertical signs along the street were replaced with new ones that comply with current regulations (stop, prohibition, priority, directional and road safety signs);
- Installation of new signs. Some new vertical signs were installed to improve visibility and safety along the road (pedestrian crossing signs, speed limit signs, other road signs);
- Adaptation of signage. Vertical signs were positioned to ensure greater visibility for road users (correct height of sign placement, optimum angle of inclination, adequate lighting);
- Consistency and uniformity of signage. The signs followed a standardised pattern and were placed consistently along the road to avoid confusion and ensure safe driving.
The activities included the analysis of the current state, the detailed design of the pavement, the rehabilitation of the horizontal and vertical road markings, and the control of the consistency and uniformity of the road signage system.
The main objective was to improve road safety by providing clear and visible information and consistent signalling.
