Via Giulia Redevelopment
Implementing party
Project description
The redevelopment of the cobbled paving of Via Giulia aimed to restore the almost 1 km long, approximately 6,000 square metre paving, bringing attention back to the historic street and facilitating the passage of pilgrims and citizens. Via Giulia was an important Renaissance thoroughfare, lined with buildings designed by renowned architects. The intervention aimed at enhancing its historical importance and is part of a broader plan to upgrade the road infrastructure planned by the Department for the Coordination of Infrastructure Development and Urban Maintenance, in view of the Jubilee celebrations. The plan involves 33 streets and some churches, including the Church of San Giovanni dei Fiorentini, located at the end of the street.
