Cornelia Parking is a work financed through the project finance mechanism, with a private financing of € 5,300,000 in exchange for a 33-year concession. The project includes the upgrade and reconfiguration of the existing parking structure, extending it over two entirely underground levels to optimize functionality and efficiency.

The project involves the installation of 240 underground parking spaces, some of which are reserved for public transport and night parking for residents. In addition, charging stations, vehicle stalls for people with disabilities and 14 motorcycle parking spots will be provided.

The car park will be located in the central area of the Municipality, near the Cornelia station of the metro line A. Although it was inaugurated about 20 years ago, this car park has never been used to date. This initiative will finally make it possible to make an important infrastructure functional for the area, especially considering that the latter is seriously affected by traffic congestion and a shortage of parking spaces.

In addition, the work will contribute to the restoration of urban decorum and the promotion of safety in the area, which, given its proximity to Vatican City, will have a strategic importance during the Jubilee period.
