The intervention is related to the conservative restoration and consolidation of Ponte Risorgimento and its access walkways, an architectural work subject to historical constraint.  Given the importance of the structure, diagnostic analysis will be conducted on the coating and analysis to determine the colour of the final finish.

Once the preliminary operations are completed, the work will be divided into four main phases: a weeding phase, a cleaning phase, a consolidation phase, and a protection phase.

In addition, work will be planned on the roadway, including demolition and replacement of joints and repaving.

The work will include improving the sidewalks by installing basalt slabs, with renovation of the subgrade and waterproofing layer. Sidewalk verges will also be fixed, and pedestrian joints will be demolished and replaced.

Special attention will be paid to upgrades to the utilities within the bridge. In line with the bridge restoration work, all companies involved will modernise their networks, with significant interventions by Acea ATO2 SpA, which will carry out activities on both aqueducts inside the bridge, and by Areti Illuminazione Artistica SpA, which will upgrade and replace the lighting system with LED technology.
