15 Minutes Programme – III Municipality Tufello Vigne Nuove
Implementing party
Project description
The Tufello neighbourhood, located in the III Municipality of Rome, is a historic area that saw its origin in the mid-1930s. It stretches between Via Salaria, Via Nomentana and the municipal border, also encompassing the section of Vigne Nuove, constructed in the late 1970s.
The urban planners, following the Municipality's request, concentrated their efforts on three primary intervention areas.
- Environmental system: redevelopment of green spaces, which will be transformed into connecting elements between the various areas of the district;
- Cultural and sports polarities: enhancement of existing cultural and sports facilities and creation of a cultural and sports centre between Via Monte Ruggero and Via del Gran Paradiso, as well as in Piazza degli Euganei;
- Mobility: construction of new road sections to improve roads in the area.
The first scheduled intervention will be related to the Detroit sports centre. In addition to the activities listed above, two different urban, social and economic regeneration interventions have been funded by European projects in Vigne Nuove, in combination with a study on the impact of natural solutions in the Tufello area.
