Citizen Inclusion: Improving the Accessibility of Digital Public Services
Implementing party
Project description
The "Citizen Inclusion" project aims to improve the accessibility of digital public services through 3 main objectives:
1. Guarantee at least 50% of the need for assistive technology to facilitate access to IT services for workers with disabilities.
2. Provide targeted training on digital accessibility.
3. Reduce by 50% the number of errors in at least two digital services, in particular in the pages accessible after user login.
The lines of intervention envisaged are:
- Reduction of accessibility errors in digital services. The online services identified for the reduction of 50% of the types of accessibility errors are related to the One-Stop Shop for Construction (SUE) – such as Amnesty Procedures, online Building Amnesty Information System of Rome (SICER), Digital Rectification Requests and Agility in the field of construction.
- Training of Roma Capitale staff. Knowledge of legislation, international standards and working methods will be improved to ensure the design, implementation and evaluation of accessible content, sites and applications. The training will also cover management profiles to increase awareness of responsibilities, accessibility organisational models and strategic planning skills for ICT accessibility in the Public Administration.
- Assistive technology and software for employees with disabilities. Technological tools will be purchased to facilitate access to IT services and reduce barriers for people with disabilities.
