Caput Mundi: Promotion of guided tours through digitisation by supporting a thematic, informative and scientific APP dedicated to the 1942 Rome Universal Exhibition (EUR) area

Implementing party

Roma Capitale

Project description

A mobile, thematic application has been developed to include both the “Classical Rome” and “Christian Rome” itineraries to offer an “educational browsing experience” on the history, architecture, vegetation and environmental aspects of the district.
The project entailed the installation of informative dashboards with QR codes to allow visitors to access graphical documents, texts and audiovisual content, creating an immersive experience. The application provides narrative and thematic itineraries, such as the ‘i giardini dei colori’ (the gardens of colours) and the ‘passeggiata dei ciliegi’ (the cherry-tree promenade), alongside inclusive and multisensory routes.
The tourist App dedicated to “Modern Rome in the EUR” is linked with the main tourist routes of Roma Capitale. Visitors receive valuable information and targeted notifications based on their location, as well as access to scheduled event details. Tourists are able to see the points of interest on a map, consult an ordered list based on location, conduct a guided search, access descriptions and reviews, and interact with the places of interest.
The application is intended to increase tourism to the EUR and promote the area by providing easy and direct access to key information.
