Project description

The project for the promotion and management of tourist events included a number of strategic activities, such as the creation of Tourist Info Points, the management of a database and websites, the implementation of funded projects in the tourism, fashion and sports sectors, as well as instrumental activities for major events.

More specifically, within the context of Tourist Info Points, strategic tourist information points were set up and managed at various locations to provide exhaustive information on tourist attractions, services, maps, guides and promotional materials. Moreover, staff training was promoted to ensure a high quality service to visitors and residents.

The management of a database and websites allowed the collection and organisation of timely information on events, attractions, tourist services and accommodation facilities. In addition, websites dedicated to tourism promotion of the destination were created and maintained, offering accurate and up-to-date content to attract visitors.

Activities included the implementation of funded projects in the tourism, fashion and sports sectors. In those sectors, innovative initiatives were identified and selected, funding applications evaluated and technical support offered in the submission of project proposals. In addition, the funded projects were monitored and evaluated to ensure the achievement of their planned objectives.

Instrumental activities for major events provided organisational support to the tourism sector. This included the coordination of logistical, promotional and marketing activities related to the events, working in partnership with local and national stakeholders to maximise the economic and tourism impact generated by the events.

Benefits included improved the destination's tourism promotion, attracting more visitors and creating new business opportunities for the tourism production sector. In addition, the visibility of tourist, fashion and sports events incre through efficient information management and targeted promotion.
