Implementing party
Project description
The project is intended to complete the conservative restoration and digitalisation of the currently unrestored glass plate negatives, drawings, posters and architectural projects contained in the historical archive collection of EUR S.p.A.The interventions include physical and analogue restoration of photographic material through cleaning, removal of accretions and retouching, as well as the digital restoration of files from negative to positive, the correction of abrasions, chemical and biological stains and the colour balance of the pictures.
The restored and digitalised pictures will be catalogued and a database created to enable the systematic management and archiving of information related to the glass plate negatives. Moreover, the project entails the creation of a digital platform for archiving and consulting the restored material to ensure easy access and efficient management.
The final purpose is to preserve and enhance the archival, historical and cultural heritage of EUR S.p.A., by making the information easily accessible and consultable to both the interested public and experts in the field. The digitalisation will ensure better preservation over time, protection of the material against future damage, as well as wide accessibility and global sharing.
