Preschool in the La Storta Area Plan
Implementing party
Project description
The project involves the construction of a building, consisting of a series of bodies for specific functions, connected together to form a paved semi-court partially covered and equipped with seating and games. The structure will rise to a single storey, covered by four roofs. The space in front of the main entrance will be sheltered by a flat roof.
The central semi-courtyard will allow direct light in and ventilation of the canteen, laundry and distribution spaces to the classrooms. The inner side of the special activity room will be used as a gathering space for the children.
The complex will have three teaching units set up to accommodate the ordered and special activities. A storage room will be provided for work, teaching and play materials, as well as a changing room for children and staff. A toilet, designed for disabled persons, will be provided, accessible directly from the corridor, adjacent to the guest toilet. The canteen will be organised as a single room with large windows, in direct communication with the kitchen group. Internal partitions will be constructed according to the sound insulation requirements of the individual functions.
Energy saving regulations will be taken into account in the implementation. A mechanical system for the supply and distribution of drinking water and a separate system for dirty and clean water will be installed. In addition, a rainwater collection system, located in the basement of the school, will be included for the irrigation of outdoor spaces.
Classrooms and common rooms will be equipped with radiant floor technology, while service areas will be fitted with cast iron or aluminium radiant elements. The boiler room will be designed in accordance with current regulations. For summer cooling, a multi-split system with heat pump will be used, complete with remote control and room temperature probe.
The project meets all the criteria for environmental protection and energy performance set out in the operational guidelines for compliance with the principle of Do No Significant Harm (DNSH).
