The intervention is part of the “CIS ROMA” program. It is divided into two phases and aims at improving the energy efficiency of 212 schools distributed in the city’s 15 municipalities, through a total investment of € 392 million.
For the “Vittorio Piccinini” Primary School, which has 383 students enrolled*, the following activities have been planned:
- Thermal insulation of the building, including the roof, the perimeter walls and the floor slab;
- Installation of doors and windows with blackout closure;
- Implementation of solar thermal systems with glazed flat plates;
- Use of heat pumps with storage tanks greater than 150 litres;
- Installation of condensing boilers to improve the efficiency of the heating system;
- Installation of photovoltaic panels for the production of renewable electricity;
- Implementation of building automation systems for the control and intelligent management of technological systems;
- Replacement of existing lighting with more efficient systems through relamping;
All interventions are aimed at reducing consumption, and promoting energy efficiency and the environmental sustainability of the school.
