Project description

The intervention is part of the “CIS ROMA” program. It is divided into two phases and aims at improving the energy efficiency of 212 schools distributed in the city’s 15 municipalities, through a total investment of €392 million.

For the “Monte Ruggero” Secondary School, which has 272 students enrolled, the following activities have been planned:

  • Installation of windows with blackout closure to improve the thermal insulation of the building;
  • Implementation of solar thermal systems, with glazed flat plates, to use solar energy for water heating;
  • Use of heat pumps with storage tanks greater than 150 litres;
  • Installation of condensing boilers to optimize the thermal system;
  • Installation of photovoltaic panels for the production of renewable electricity;
  • Implementation of building automation systems for the control and intelligent management of plants;
  • Replacement of existing lighting with more efficient systems, through relamping.

All interventions are aimed at reducing consumption, and promoting energy efficiency and the environmental sustainability of the school.
