Energy efficiency and redevelopment of the “Michele Fioravanti” Secondary School

Project description
The intervention is part of the “CIS ROMA” program. It is divided into two phases and aims at improving the energy efficiency of 212 schools distributed in the city’s 15 municipalities, through a total investment of €392 million.
For the “Michele Fioravanti” Secondary School, which has 245 students enrolled*, the following activities are planned:
- Replacement of the windows with the installation of blackout closures;
- Implementation of solar thermal systems with glazed flat plates;
- Use of heat pumps with storage tanks greater than 150 litres;
- Installation of condensing boilers to increase the efficiency of the heating system;
- Installation of photovoltaic panels for the production of renewable electricity;
- Implementation of building automation systems for the intelligent control of technological systems;
- Replacement of existing lighting with more efficient systems through relamping;
All interventions are aimed at reducing consumption, and promoting energy efficiency and the environmental sustainability of the school.
