Colli d'Oro Park - New construction of a sport facility
Implementing party
Project description
The Colli d'Oro park is a large green area located in Labaro, within which stands an unfinished abandoned and unsafe sports facility with thousands of square metres of green space. The project envisages punctual work to restore the greenery, with the aim of returning a reclaimed area to the citizens and enhancing the offer of public services. The project will allow the redevelopment of the urban area with the construction of a new multi-purpose indoor sports facility with 1,500 seats and a total area of 3,700 square metres. Fields will be created for: five-a-side football, basketball, volleyball, crossfit, fitness trail, skate park, mountain biking, while respecting the area's natural features. The intervention is drafted in line with the sustainability and energy efficiency objectives of the principle of “Do No Significant Harm” (DNSH) to the environment and consistent with the target of 20 per cent less as for the nearly Zero Energy Buildings standard. The ultimate goal is to enhance the park, making it a sports area with free and open access, in order to promote the culture of sport as a tool for social inclusion and integration.
