MACRO's Study Room
Implementing party
Project description
The new MACRO's Study Room is developed in two distinct spaces within the Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome. The first is located in the former café of the new museum wing, while the second is in the historic wing of the Peroni Brewery, inside the Visual Arts Research and Documentation Centre, previously inaccessible to the public. The project is part of a broader plan for the creation of the Network of Study Rooms in Rome, in the museums and not only, and in a territorial context, that of Municipality II, particularly experienced by young people, thanks to the presence of important universities and high schools.
The installation—carried out between 2023 and 2024 by Azienda Speciale Palaexpo, which manages the space—saw the creation of 50 study stations that enhance the public reading services in the quadrant.
