Project description

The project focuses on the conservative restoration and enhancement of the archaeological area of Via Cilicia. Interventions of restoration, securing and consolidation will be made on the ancient structures in the area. The activities will aim to preserve and protect archaeological finds, allowing the access to visitors.In addition, a new lighting system of the area will be made, which will allow the access to the itinerary during night-time.
Archaeological excavations will be made in the area of Via Cilicia, in order to expand the knowledge of the site and enhance its value. Excavations could reveal new artefacts or historical information, which will contribute to the promotion of the site.
The ultimate goal of the project as a whole is to transform the area of Via Cilicia into an accessible, safe and pleasant place of cultural interest for visitors. Restoration and enhancement works will contribute to preserve the archaeological heritage and to offer a valuable experience to all visitors of the area.
