Caput Mundi: Conservative restoration and enhancement of the Villa De Sanctis Columbarium complex
Implementing party
Project description
The project for the conservative restoration and enhancement of the Villa De Sanctis Columbarium complex includes a series of interventions aimed at securing the safety and protection of the area.
Preliminary checks will be carried out on the existing structures to identify any critical issues and dangers. Appropriate measures will be taken to strengthen and consolidated the compromised structures, preventing the risk of collapse or further damage. Structural support, repair of cracks or fractures, and restoration of foundations may be necessary to ensure the stability of the area.
As lighting is concerned, updated systems will be installed to enhance and highlight the necropolis area and the Imperial Gatehouse of the Equites Singulares. In order to reduce the environmental impact and ensure adequate visibility at night, LEDs and lights with low energy consumption will be used.
The inclusion of new educational panels will provide information about the area through text, images, and graphics to illustrate the history, cultural importance, and architectural details of the structures.
Overall, the interventions aim to preserve and promote the historical and cultural heritage of the area, offering a unique experience to visitors.
